Industrial scrap rates today: what factories get paid for their scrap
Live base rates for ferrous and non-ferrous factory scrap in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, plus how each grade is priced against them. For plants, warehouses, contractors and facility teams with recurring or one-time loads.
Rates by industrial grade
Factory scrap is rarely “just iron” or “just copper”. The grade, how clean it is and how it is sorted decide where it sits against the base rate. Pick your material:
HMS 1 & 2 (heavy melting scrap)
Structural steel, plates, beams, machine frames and fabrication offcuts.
HMS rate →
MS turnings & borings
Lathe and CNC swarf, chips and borings from machine shops.
Turnings rate →
CRCA & sheet cuttings
Press-shop skeleton, sheet metal trimmings and punching scrap.
CRCA rate →
Motor & transformer scrap
Electric motors, transformers, alternators and compressors with copper or aluminium windings.
Motor scrap rate →
PCB & electronic board scrap
Motherboards, server boards, control panels and populated circuit boards.
PCB rate →
Copper wire & cable
Insulated cable, armoured cable, winding wire and bare bright.
Wire rate →
Copper scrap
Bare bright, #1, #2, mixed copper, with a weight calculator.

Brass scrap
Honey brass, valves, fittings and brass turnings.

How industrial scrap is priced
Every quote starts from the day’s base rate for the metal, then moves up or down on six things:
| Factor | What raises the rate | What lowers it |
|---|---|---|
| Grade & purity | Single metal, single grade, known alloy | Mixed metals, attachments, coatings |
| Cleanliness | Dry, free of oil, paint, rubber and soil | Oily swarf, wet loads, insulation left on |
| Volume | Full truck loads, regular monthly lifting | Small, one-off quantities |
| Sorting at source | Separate bins per grade on your shop floor | Everything in one heap |
| Handling | Easy access, loading support, cut to size | Dismantling, cutting or crane work needed |
| Market movement | Rising LME and domestic steel prices | Falling metal prices, weak rupee demand |
For plants with recurring scrap, we can link your rate to a published index (for example LME copper or aluminium) so the price moves with the market instead of being renegotiated every lift.
What you get with every lift
- Weighbridge slip for every load, so the weight is never a matter of trust.
- GST invoice and documentation, including reverse-charge and TDS paperwork where it applies. See our GST on scrap guide.
- Authorised recycling through CPCB/MPCB authorised facilities, with a Certificate of Recycling for e-waste.
- Payment after weighing, by bank transfer.

Questions we get asked
Are these rates the same for bulk factory scrap?
The rates above are indicative rates for standard lots. Truck-load and contract quantities are quoted separately and are usually better, because handling and transport cost less per kg.
How often do industrial scrap rates change?
Base metal rates move daily with LME and domestic steel markets. This page shows the date the base rates were last updated.
Do you sign annual scrap contracts?
Yes. For plants with regular scrap generation we offer fixed-frequency lifting with index-linked pricing, so you do not need to call for quotes every month.
Which areas do you cover for factory pickups?
Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, including MIDC areas, are covered by our own teams. For other locations, share the site address and we will confirm.
Can you dismantle machinery or a whole plant?
Yes. See our factory dismantling service for plant and building scrap.
