FAQs

Bike and scooter scrapping questions, answered

Are you authorised to scrap bikes and scooters?

Yes. Every two-wheeler we collect is scrapped at a government-registered RVSF (Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility) as per the Vehicle Scrapping Rules, 2021. The Certificate of Deposit and Certificate of Vehicle Scrapping are issued in your name and verified on VAHAN.

Is it legal to scrap my old bike?

Yes. Voluntary scrapping is fully legal under the national Vehicle Scrappage Policy, and scrapping through a registered facility is the only way to officially cancel your registration.

How much will I get for my old bike or scooter?

Most two-wheelers fetch between ₹2,000 and ₹9,000 as scrap; heavier bikes like Royal Enfields can fetch more. Send the make, model, year and photos for an exact quote.

Is pickup free?

Yes. Pickup is free across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, even if the bike does not start or has flat tyres.

When do I get paid?

On the spot at pickup, by UPI or bank transfer, once the documents are verified.

What documents do I need?

Original RC, owner’s ID proof (Aadhaar or PAN), and a financier NOC if the bike was on loan. We take the chassis number imprint and remove the number plates at pickup.

What is a Certificate of Deposit (CoD)?

It is the official proof that your vehicle has been deposited at a registered scrapping facility. You can use it for road-tax and registration fee benefits on your next two-wheeler.

What road-tax benefit do I get in Maharashtra?

Maharashtra’s scheme gives a road-tax concession of up to 15% on a new vehicle of the same category registered against a Certificate of Deposit, subject to the scheme’s conditions and validity period.

Will my RC be cancelled?

Yes. After scrapping, the registration is cancelled on VAHAN, so the bike can never be re-registered, resold or fined in your name.

I have lost my RC. Can I still scrap my bike?

Yes. We help you with the police report and affidavit route and verify ownership through VAHAN before scrapping.

My bike is still on loan. What do I do?

Close the loan and get the financier’s NOC. We guide you through the rest.

The owner has passed away. Can the family scrap the bike?

Yes. The legal heir can scrap it with the death certificate, heirship documents and their own ID.

What about pending challans?

We check them before pickup. They need to be cleared before the registration is cancelled.

My bike has been lying in the parking for years. Will you take it?

Yes. Rusted, no keys, flat tyres or parts missing: we pick it up. Societies often call us to clear abandoned two-wheelers from the parking.

Do you scrap electric scooters?

Yes. The scooter is scrapped at the RVSF and its lithium-ion battery is recycled separately through our battery recycling channel.

Is a bike over 15 years old illegal to ride?

Private two-wheelers can be renewed after 15 years if they pass the fitness test. Scrapping is voluntary, but for most 15+ year old bikes, the scrap value plus the CoD benefit beats the renewal cost.

How long does it take?

Pickup usually happens within 24 to 48 hours. The Certificate of Deposit is generated once the bike reaches the RVSF, typically within a few working days.

Do you take bulk two-wheelers from societies or delivery fleets?

Yes. We clear multiple bikes in one visit for housing societies, dealers and delivery fleets, with paperwork for each vehicle.

What happens to my bike after scrapping?

Fuel, oil and the battery are removed safely, the bike is dismantled, and the metal and plastics are sent for recycling.
