Selling retired IT assets
Do you charge for collection?
No. For business quantities we pay you for the material and handle pickup, loading and transport ourselves. You receive the value of the assets, not an invoice.
What about the data on our machines?
Certified data destruction is part of the job. Drives are wiped or physically destroyed on a documented process and you receive a certificate listing the assets covered — which is what your auditor and IT head will ask for.
What is the minimum quantity?
We are set up for business volumes rather than single items. If you are retiring a batch — an office refresh, a shut-down floor, a data-centre decommission — send the list and we will confirm whether it clears our pickup minimum.
What paperwork do we get?
A weighment record, an asset-wise handover list, the data destruction certificate, and recycling documentation you can cite in your e-waste and BRSR reporting.
Why is working equipment worth more?
A working laptop can be refurbished and resold, so it is priced as an asset. A dead one is priced on recoverable material — board, aluminium, copper, plastic. This is why it pays to call us before machines sit in a store room for three years.
