What decides the price
A motor or transformer is mostly steel, with a smaller share of copper or aluminium winding. The winding is where the value is, so the rate depends on what is inside.

Transformer oil is regulated waste and must go to an authorised re-refiner or recycler. We handle oil removal and documentation for transformer lifts.
Whole or dismantled?
For a few motors, selling them whole is simplest. For a tonne or more, we can dismantle and pay separately for copper, aluminium and steel at their own rates. Tell us the quantity and we will suggest the better option for your load.

How much is a scrap motor worth?
It depends on the weight and whether the winding is copper or aluminium. We price whole motors per kg against today’s copper, aluminium and steel rates, and quote larger lots after a look at photos.
How do I know if a motor is copper or aluminium wound?
The nameplate sometimes says so. Otherwise, the winding colour inside the terminal box or end cover shows it: copper is reddish, aluminium is silver.
Do you buy old transformers?
Yes, from small control transformers to distribution transformers. Oil is drained and sent to an authorised recycler before the unit is lifted.
Is it better to dismantle motors before selling?
For small quantities, no. For large lots, dismantling usually gets more because each metal is paid at its own rate. We can do the dismantling for you.
