IMRC 2027: MRAI International Material Recycling Conference, Jaipur

The Material Recycling Association of India’s flagship convention, the 14th IMRC, takes place on 18–20 January 2027 in Jaipur. It is the main annual meeting point for India’s metal and material recycling trade.

About IMRC

MRAI is the apex national association for India’s recycling industry, with more than 1,500 member companies. Its annual conference and exposition brings together metal recyclers, scrap importers and traders, steel and non-ferrous producers, and policymakers. Recent editions in 2025 and 2026 were also held at the Novotel Jaipur Convention Centre.

Why IMRC 2027 is worth watching

The 2027 edition comes at a time of change for India’s scrap trade. In September 2026 the European Commission proposed excluding India from the list of countries eligible to receive EU metal waste from May 2027, and MRAI asked the government to intervene. India sources a large share of its imported metal scrap from Europe, so supply, prices and domestic scrap demand are likely to be on many delegates’ minds.

For factories selling scrap in India, tighter imports can mean stronger demand for domestic scrap. Follow day-to-day movement on our industrial scrap rates page.
