How to get the most for old utensils

Separate by colour

Brass is yellow-gold, copper is reddish-brown. Kept apart, each is paid at its own rate.

Check with a magnet

A fridge magnet sticks to iron, not to brass or copper. It catches iron pieces mixed in.

Remove plastic and wood

Handles and knobs aren’t metal. Taking them off keeps the weight honest for both of us.

Old utensils: your questions

How is the price of old brass and copper utensils decided?

By weight and metal type. Our copper and brass rates follow the market and are published daily on our live scrap rates page. Mixed or plated items are quoted when we see them.

Do you buy dented, broken or cracked utensils?

Yes. We buy by weight, so dents, cracks and missing lids don’t matter.

Do you buy kansa (bell metal) thalis?

Yes. Kansa is weighed and quoted separately from brass and copper.

How do I tell brass from copper?

Brass is yellow-gold; copper is reddish-brown. Neither sticks to a magnet. If you’re unsure, send a photo on WhatsApp and we’ll tell you.

Do you pay cash for old utensils?

Yes. Each metal is weighed in front of you and we pay cash on the spot, or UPI if you prefer.

Can you pick up from my area?

We pick up across Mumbai and Thane, from our locations in Dahisar West, Kandivali West, Bhandup West and Thane.
